Did you know most films set in Alaska are not actually filmed here?  It's true.  They've been shot everywhere from California to Maine.  Northern Exposure, one of my all-time favorite television programs, was filmed in Washington state.  Some of the inaccuracies are laughable, but the storytelling was still great.
